thanksgiving-harvest.jpgThank you for considering
a religious vocation

IN THIS SEASON OF THANKSGIVING the VISION editors would like to say thank you to all of you who are considering a religious vocation or who have entered religious life.

Each Christian must determine his or her own path to discipleship. There are countless ways to love and serve the Lord, but there is no question that the church needs the unique witness and service of religious sisters, brothers, and priests. We are grateful for the religious men and women in our lives, and honored to assist you on your vocation journey.

Please help discerners with student debt

studentdebt.jpgEDUCATIONAL DEBT is a roadblock for many young men and women ready to enter religious life. The National Religious Vocation Conference (VISION's parent organization) has identified the seriousness of student debt as an obstacle to religious vocations and is working toward addressing the problem on a national level.

In the meantime, please do what you can to support discerners and candidates to religious life who are working to pay off their student loans. Here are two people who recently contacted VISION asking for our help and your support of their fundraising efforts:

Please feel free to send us links to your fundraisers or to other discerners' and candidates' fundraising efforts, and we will be happy to do what we can to spotlight them.

word-of-god.jpgOFTEN PEOPLE use the "Word” and the "Bible” interchangeably, but that is inaccurate because it’s too narrow a definition. While believers accept scripture as the inspired word of God, it’s not the only way God speaks.

God spoke originally at Creation and these words became the world, Genesis tells us. John’s gospel also says that this divine word present at the beginning of the world was spoken into time in a new way in the person of Jesus: “And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory” (1:14).

So how can we better understand the Word?  . . . >>Read more.
