AMONG THE MANY MEDIA inquiries VISION staff has received in the past hectic month was a request for someone who had gone through VocationMatch, found a community, and had educational debt to pay off--not too specific!

Fortunately, the Dominicans of the Central Province came through with a candidate, and the result was an excellent interview with Dominican Vocation Director Father Andrew-Carl Wisdom and a young man looking into life as a Dominican.

Thanks to CBS reporter Vince Gerasole and his cameraman for weaving together such an interesting and informative news story about the challenge debt plays in the lives of those discerning a religious vocation. Click on the image to view the video.

cbs2chicago_debt.jpgThanks also to those of you--discerners and communities alike--
who have let me know of your availability for media interviews. Please keep the names coming for future reference. Email pjtuohy@truequest.biz.

VISION to launch blog in Spanish

OUR BLOGS are merging and expanding at the same time. Starting in mid-November, VISION's three English blogs will merge into one under the title of SpiritCitings: Seeing the Spirit at work in the world. We will also introduce a Spanish language blog along the same vein but with a specific focus on stories of interest to Latino/a discerners. More info to come in November.

We're also looking to expand our resources section on our Spanish and French sites. Please send suggested links that would be of particular interest to Spanish- or French-speaking Catholics discerning religious life to pjtuohy@truequest.biz.

NRVC/CARA Study on Recent Vocations
captures attention of U.S. Catholic bishops

HOLY CROSS Brother Paul Bednarczyk, Executive Director of the National Religious Vocation Conference, has been invited by Bishop Sean O'Malley, OFM Cap. to address a November assembly of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Br. Paul will report on the NRVC/CARA Study on Recent Vocations to Religious Life. The unusual honor for someone other than a bishop to directly address the Conference seems to indicate a priority the bishops will give the NRVC's landmark research. For more on the NRVC/CARA study, go to nrvc.net.
