Looking to interview men and women who have had success finding a community with the help of VocationMatch.com

THE EDITORS OF VISION have received several inquiries recently from print and broadcast journalists interested in interviewing and/or filming people who have used VocationMatch.com as a tool in their discernment and are now affiliated with a community (as a candidate,  postulant, novice, or professed member). Please contact Patrice Tuohy at pjtuohy@truequest.biz if you (or those with whom you are working) are willing to be interviewed and/or filmed about VocationMatch.com's role in discernment.

Important Note: We have an immediate need for someone in the Chicago area for an Oct. 5 television interview and in the D.C. area for a short video.

NRVC study on recent vocations
receives much media attention

THE NATIONAL RELIGIOUS VOCATION CONFERENCE--VISION Vocation Guide's sponsoring organization--released the findings of their landmark Study on Recent Vocations to Religious Life conducted by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate. The New York Times, Associated Press, Catholic News Service, National Public Radio, Relavant radio, and ANunsLife.org podcast were among the many media outlets to report on the study.

Among the study's major findings:

+ New members bring increased ethnic, cultural diversity, strong desire for communal living, prayer, and Catholic identity.

+ An overwhelming 85 percent say what attracted them to a community was its members, citing their sense of joy, commitment, and zeal.

+ Many younger members report not having known men and women religious when they first felt drawn toward that life.

+ Despite the challenges of diminishing numbers, generational differences, and diverse ministries, new members express hope in the future of religious life.

Learn more about the study and what others are saying about it at the NRVC's website, nrvc.net. Find links to articles and broadcasts mentioned above on the Study Media Information webpage. Please feel free to send comments and questions about the study to Patrice Tuohy at pjtuohy@truequest.biz.
